Texas Limestone

This lovely piece of Texas is handcrafted from native Texas limestone, which is quarried in the Texas Hill Country near Austin.  Depending on the strata from which it is quarried, the limestone can be described as cream or shell.

Texas cream limestone, a combination of calcite, lime, and oolite fossils, is known for its uniform, fine-grained texture and warm, cream color.  Texas shell limestone contains such visible fossils as oolites, gastropods, and trigonia.

Occasionally, specks of flint will appear in certain grades of limestone.  In the shell, it will appear a bold black, such as a pen mark.  In the cream, it will have a murky, shadowy appearance.

Both types of limestone were formed during the Mesozoic Era more than 100 million years ago....a time when Dinosaurs, not Longhorns, roamed the land!

     engraving is for quantity orders only, and the lasering cost is dependent upon the

     design.

4)  Custom design available upon request.  Set-up charge for all custom designs.

5)  Any item can be crafted in cream or shell limestone (with the exception of item

     #106-A).  However, there are some products not recommended in shell; such as:    

     armadillo, capitol, guitar, bat magnets/ornaments; and, capitol paper weight. 

6)  Density of fossils, and types of large shell varies from piece to piece.  Our company

      has no control over the nature-made stone.

7)  All product dimensions are approximate.

8)  There is a minimum order of $30.00 for FREE DELIVERY within Austin, Tx.  A

     delivery fee of $5.00 will be charged for cities immediately surrounding Austin. 

     Cities further than the perimeter of Austin will be shipped.

9)  Shipping is available.  Expect a 2-3 week delivery.

10)  Each item is wrapped, boxed, and a Texas limestone history card included.

11)  Payment can be made by PayPal, and check or cash.

12)  Payment must be received before product is shipped.
